A barman walks into an establishment advertising refreshments served all night (until 2 am). There is an exchange of words, of notes, of directions and misdirections, of twigs and leaves and other ingredients. Q: What does a panda have to do to get a drink in this place?
A: About the artists

Petter Ballo (b. 1979, Oslo) lives and works in Oslo. An Exhibition Curated by Petter Ballo will open the fall program at 1857 this year. Among recent shows are Hvitsten Salong, Hvitsten; UKS, Oslo; Pink Cube, Oslo; and Oslo Kunstforening, Oslo. His work Burning House (2010) is on permanent display in 1857's main exhibition space.


Pablo Castro (b. 1977, Stavanger) is an artist, filmmaker, museum technician and the regular bartender for openings at 1857. He has created cocktails for a number of international artists, including The Jynx (for Bedwyr Williams), Daymark (for Allison Katz), Papri-kar (for Darren Bader), Sara Bee Good (for Oa4s), as well as the contemporary classic The 1857 (click link for recipe).
